In line with recommendations from the United Nations Habitat programme, this strategy sets out core values for how we want digitisation to be adopted within Glasgow. The values re-enforce the values set out in Glasgow’s City Charter and the Glasgow Strategic Plan and intend to promote and protect human rights in the digital age.

1) Be Accessible and Inclusive
We aspire to everybody having equal access to digital resources and opportunity.
Our digital services will be designed to be inclusive and accessible to all.
We will provide people with support (or alternatives) for accessing digital services where required.
2) Protect and Secure
We will promote and protect people's human rights in the digital age.
We will protect people's privacy in line with UK GDPR and equalities in line with the Public Sector Equality Duty.


3) Be Open and Transparent
We will be open and transparent about our use of technologies and data.
We will make data available as open data, and will use digital tools to improve transparency in line with our Open Government commitments.
4) Involve and Empower
We will involve communities in the design and testing of new digital services.
We will use digital tools to improve community engagement and participation as part of our Open Government commitments.


5) Collaborative and in Partnership
We will work in partnership and collaboration with communities from across the public , private, academic and third sectors in the city.
