A Message from Councillor Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council
Glasgow is undergoing remarkable change and renewal, a city shaping the next chapter in its’ long and proud history.
Investment of scale and significance is transforming Glasgow and our city region, with development and regeneration opportunities attracting new players and new concepts to Scotland’s metropolis.
This, after all, is a city ranked the UK’s number one for residential investment, where major mixed-use and Grade A office developments are creating new landmark locations and city quarters. Driven by world-class universities and innovation districts, Glasgow’s flourishing knowledge and tech sectors are stimulating new investment - transforming our city and its economy.
Meanwhile, over £140 million of public investment is reshaping Glasgow’s civic heart, creating places of international quality and bringing together development, infrastructure and people.
And our willingness to take more risks, to test new funding structures and new relationships is attracting major institutional investors, a first for Scotland.
Glasgow’s 2026 Pitchbook speaks to the momentum, confidence and intent within this great city. The biggest and most substantial pitchbook produced by Glasgow to date, it showcases flagship opportunities ranging from residential to innovation and technology, and from leisure to transport.
It includes expansion proposals for both Scotland’s world-leading events campus, the SEC, and for Barclays Hampden, our national and iconic football stadium. It offers development opportunities for some of the UK’s most prime urban real estate and for the ongoing transformation of the River Clyde, one of Europe’s last untapped mass scale regeneration opportunities.
And for the first time, the 2026 Pitchbook includes commercial and industrial opportunities from across the Glasgow City Region, Scotland’s economic and cultural powerhouse.
Throughout its history, Glasgow has shown its remarkable capacity for renewal and reinvention, embracing progress and change for the prosperity of our place and people. We recognise that good quality development and investment is absolutely critical to that continuing transformation and prosperity. The ambition is here. The will is here. Our Pitchbook reflects that. Glasgow is where modern Scotland has always been made. And where it continues to be remade. Come with us and help build the Glasgow for the century ahead.
